They Say Owners Can Resemble Their Dogs...

But if you ever catch me doing THIS, please smack me in the head and cover me with a blanket.

And this would be my brother Baker wearing the "Who Flung Poo" shirt with his finger in the punch bowl:

If You Want Pics of Parties and Strippers, You Are in the Wrong Place!

Well the big day has come to an end, and I made it relatively unscathed. Burned myself with some wax while grooming the caterpillars I call eyebrows, left the house way too late for my day of errands, got stuck in traffic for a LONG time on 129, but got all of my errands in, spent the afternoon with my Grandmother, had lunch with a pal and dinner with the fam. After being inspired by a blogger buddy, I decide to take lots of random pics of my day. It was mostly in hopes that I would actually remember what I did today, instead of like in years past where I forget after a little while. I am not a fan of birthdays, mostly my own, but today I can't complain too much. Not much excitement, not a huge party, but that's the way I like it! Here are a few pics, I will get more transferred/uploaded tomorrow. Gentry took over my photography duties after she arrived at dinner, but apparently she deleted a lot of what she took, because I was left with very few. But it's all good, I did get a couple of good ones.

Here's Gidget after I told her to "stay" and she realized she wasn't going:

This is where I had planned to spend most of my afternoon. The DDS as it's now known. (used to be the DMV):
Afternoon with Grandmother Hulsey and Josie:

Met John for lunch at some point but didn't take pictures. Sorry John!

Came home and was greeted by the bro and the nephew, who were ready for birthday dinner, right after "DAAAAAAD, just ONE more lap on the go cart. Just one more...":

Followed by dinner in the big crazy wild party town of Cleveland. I believe my pictures depict how wild and crazy it got.
Gentry wearing her glasses:
Chad wearing Gentry's glasses and making a goofy face (imagine that):
Me wearing Gentry's glasses (I warned you it got wild):
The kids hiding in the back of Chad's truck hoping to hitch a ride to the Dairy Queen:
I will add more tomorrow, if I'm not too exhausted from the festivities. I mean, c'mon, it was nearly 9:00 when we left Dairy Queen and I'm no longer a spring chicken you know.

Oh Crap, Not Another One

Well it's official, it is after midnight, and I just said goodbye to 27. I have to say 28 doesn't feel a bit different than 27.

I hate my birthday. I mean, I am glad to be alive and all, but I hate being the center of attention. Only when I am making smartass yet entertaining comments do I like to be the center of attention. Normally I try to make it like any other day, I wish that were true for today. Instead I get to go to the DMV and renew my driver's license. Oops! Forgot all about that. My morning of DMV horror will be followed up by lots of errands. So if you are reading this and you are looking for a good reason to drink, go for it and think of me, just don't do the gangsta thing and pour one out in my honor. I mean come on, who wastes good alcohol.

Speaking of errands and the DMV, I'd like to bitch for a second. (yes I know hard to believe that I would be bitching) But why is it as a child your birthday meant presents, parties, cake and ice cream, goodie bags..... Yes that is right, remember those? It wasn't even your birthday and you got goodie bags. Free cake and ice cream (and in my day a free entry to Skate Country) AND free toys. Woot! Not now though. OH NO. I would be totally acceptable with my birthday now meaning nothing new and exciting, as in just any other day, but no, that would be too easy. Instead, we actually have more work because it IS our birthday. Are you feeling me? My tag needs renewing, so does my driver's license, which is partly my fault that I forgot to renew sooner than the actual DAY it expires, but what can I say, I like to live on the edge. Birthdays are no longer about parties and cake and what your best friend and parents got you for your birthday, now it's about what's due and what needs to be done.

And on a final note, if the Happy Birthday singing bear shows himself in the morning, expect him to lose his head and/or an appendage. You know who you are oh friend of said bear, and you have been warned.
